Day 221 – Sunday, May 13, 2012

“Mother’s Day”

I wish to begin by saying “Thank You” to my Mother, who has been truly amazing, my greatest gift, and best friend.  Without her, I would not be me, and would not be here.

Secondly, a special thank you to other Mothers, many, who have been there for me, including my Father’s wife, Ruth.  And thirdly, to all the other Mothers.  I have come to  have a deep respect, and understanding, for all the sacrificies you make, and the effort, dedication, and responsibility you show.  Every day.  Happy Mother’s Day.

Dandelions now fill much of the yard.  They are indeed beautiful.  This is for you…Moms

After this week’s storm, the sea has remained sloppy, and at times, the wind fierce.  Here’s a couple of snaps from the front yard.  I am blessed.

The “flutter-by’s” have also arrived.  As the Fiddle-Heads.  And a squirrel has taken up residence in the Keeper’s House.  I was OK with the squirrel at first.  Even his, or her running up to my feet in the living room.  He/She now keeps me up at night, and first thing in the morning, and is probably doing bad things in the walls, ceiling, etc.  Tim and Kathy are getting me a Havaheart trap.  Maybe this squirrel actually will like going to the Maineland.

Tim and Kathy also put the Nautilus Mac Boat into the water the other day.  Within 48 hours it had again taken on a lot of water on the port side, and was listing about 40 degrees.  We pulled her out yesterday and drained her.  Thanks T/K.  We need to get a new boat, and need help to do that.

Worked for Norb most of the day yesterday, stacking and splitting wood.  He’s a very special man.

More ocean pics…

Short post.  Spring seems to have arrived.  The lobsters still haven’t.  And another dandelion lawn pic…Good Mothers are Lions…

Double click on pics and they get bigger, and hopefully better.

The Horn is sounding.  The Light is on.  Good Enuf.

I’d guess from the stain on that leaky boat she’d been sitt’in pretty low in the wat’ah in the past. Boats are known for be’in a hole in the wat’ah into which one pours money. Even more so with a hole in the bottom into which wat’ah pours.

As for your boarder, your squirrel, I’d be look’in ’round the place real close That little critt’ah likely might have built a nest with plans to hatch out some little ones — and pretty soon.

arthur, you’re so right. about boats, and the critt’ah. i’m searching but haven’t found anything yet. will keep you posted.
