Day 224 – Wednesday, May 16, 2012

“Towering Dandelions”

Today came in like a Lion, and is going out like a Lamb, albeit one draped in an atomizing mist and dense fog.    Yesterday, the sky held up a brilliant yellow sun, and the earth answered, bedding thousands more dotting the Keeper’s House front lawn.  I took this shot from the tower, as you can see.  Dandy Lions…

I got word today that a class of students from UMM (University of Maine Machias), were out hiking the Western Head trails yesterday, which is visible to the northeast of my front yard, and spotted a number of seals, and… a whale.  It is early for these spottings.  Perhaps they will be bringing the lobsters.

Here’s a snap I took on Monday of gulls, guarding the newly launched floats where the Lobstermen weigh their catch before delivering it to the wharf.  Not much weighing going on…

As I mentioned the other day, I’m trying to make daily posts, so some will be brief.  Horn is sounding.  Light is on.  Good Enuf.
